Peanut Butter Yo Yos from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

This has been a Christmas favorite since my college days. I have loved these cookies since my friend, Dwight, gave me a plate of these for Christmas. I begged him for his mom's recipe, and he laughed that there's no recipe, she just makes them. They are super good and easy to make. My boys used to help me make them when they were little, and Christmas isn't complete without these yummy yo-yo's. All you need is a box of Ritz crackers, peanut butter and almond bark. I like to use the vanilla bark when I ...

Christmas Memories from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

I have been lacking Christmas spirit this year which is a mystery to me! So, while trying to find it I decided to make some cookies I remember from my childhood. We all have those recipes that bring us back to our childhood and the magic of Christmas. My grandma's Coconut Macaroons are one of those recipes. I haven't had them since my grandma passed away so many years ago. I found this recipe in one of my family recipe binders, the one I got as a shower gift when I was a young bride. It's such ...

Forgotten Kisses Cookies from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

A batch of these yummy cookies were in the oven a couple nights ago... an easy Christmas cookie to make last minute. I'm running out of time to get all I want to do finished, I know I'm not alone. These cookies are quick and easy to last minute. I usually pop them in the oven right before I go to bed. They're one of the favorites in our home and it isn't Christmas until I get these made.

Forgotten Kisses

Pillow Covers From CUTE Dish Towels from Mama Spark's World

I bought some of the cutest Christmas dish towels a few years ago.  I *FINALLY* made time to make them all into pillow covers.  I had so much fun mixing and matching fronts, backs, zipper covers.  I decided to make all the covers for 20" pillows.  I quilted each of the fronts.  The pillow covers are all lined too.  Here is the parade of pillow covers.I gifted this one to my niece that has 4

Christmas cookies

Two of my five grand children who are living here in Greece came visit us for the week end. It was such a happiness to see them so joyful and enthusiastic for preparing Christmas! My six years old grand-son and my four years old grand-daughter helped me baking the French traditional Christmas cookies : sablés de Noël. After what, with the help of their father, they cut some paper ornaments and garlands, and hanged them on the tree. It is the first time I let the children decorate the Christmas tree without interfering and I must say that they did a ...

12 Days of Christmas, Day 6 from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

Day 6

I live very close to a ski slope named Buck Hill. When my boys were growing up they spent a lot of time there skiing and snowboarding. I drove them there on snow days so that they could meet up with friends and enjoy the new fresh snow with their friends. One of the things that I enjoy the most is the sledding hill. If you ever want to feel like you're five years old, go sledding! I love it because at the base of the hill there's a hot cocoa booth that sells warm cookies ...

Christmas Makes from Oops Lah

As every year I've made a few Christmas gifts and Christmas ornaments. A friend of mine has recently retired and wants to start to embroider so I made her this box and filled it with some essentials.

Then I made these patchwork note book covers

A couple of bird ornaments

Then I made a couple of folders with papers I bought in China. The first is a very typical Chines pattern

and here are some Shanghai ladies from the twenties. I hope my friends from my Asia time will enjoy them.

A Christmas pillow. I used two tea towels ...
